Selecting Kirsch Designer Metals Drapery Hardware

The Kirsch Designer Metals Collection offers both Traversing Decorative Rods and Non-Traversing Decorative Rods. "Traversing" means that the rod has a cord that operates to open and close the drapery panels. Non-Traversing means that the drapery or curtain panels are moved by hand. When selecting Kirsch Designer Metals Drapery Hardware, your first consideration is whether you want Traversing or Non-Traversing Rods.

1. Select your Finials:

Please select the style and color of your finials first, as the color of your finials will dictate the color of your rod. Specifically, some finials not offered in all of the available colors, and some of the darker finials are matched with a Black Bronze Rod.

2. Then, select the style, size and color of your Traverse Rod from the four available styles:

Smooth Traversing with Ring Slides
Smooth traverse With Plain Slides
Fluted Traverse with Ring Slides
Fluted Traverse with Plain Slides

Everything you need for a standard installation is included with the rod; including brackets, finial plugs (to attach the finials), and a cord tension device. Special Applications

Double Brackets:

The Designer Metals Collection offers two types of Double Brackets for Traversing Rods. The First allows you to mount two traversing rods, one in front of the other. The second allows you to mount a Decorative Traverse Rod in front of a plain traverse rod.

Kirsch Designer Metals Traverse Rods are shipped as "center-open" or "split-draw" rods. These rods can, however, be easily converted to one-way right or one-way left traverse rods. We have a video which demonstrate how to accomplish the conversion.

1. Select your Finials:

Please select the style and color of your finials first, as the color of your finials will dictate the color of your rod. Specifically, some finials not offered in all of the available colors, and some of the darker finials are matched with a Black Bronze Rod.

2. Select the style, size and color of your Decorative Rod:

Telescopic Pole (in various widths). "Telescopic" means that the rod will "expand" to the desired size, such as from 38"-66" wide. Simply select the size of the rod that fits your window.

Fixed Width Pole. This is a 8-foot long rod that can be used as is, cut down to the desired size, or joined with another Fixed Width Rod via a splice.

3. Select your Rings:

Select the style and quantity of rings, if rings are needed. Rings are available in standard decorative, wide decorative and Bypass. Please note that Bypass Rings are only used with Bypass Brackets.

4. Brackets:

Standard brackets and finial plugs (to attach the finials) are included with telescopic poles, but must be ordered separately for the fixed width pole. If your application requires something other than standard brackets, there are two options:

Double Brackets
The Designer Metals Collection offers double brackets which allow you to mount two rods on one set of brackets.

Center Bypass Brackets:
Center Bypass Brackets are used with center Bypass Rings (C-Rings). This combination is typically used on wide windows with one-way drapery panels. By using he bypass bracket and C-Rings you can place supports in a position in which the drapery panels can still pass.
