How do the C-rings and bypass brackets work?

The metal collections have options for wide windows that still need center supports. These are bypass brackets, which have a lower profile than a standard bracket, so that C-rings, which do not completely encircle the rod, can pass over them. These brackets are only used in the middle of the rod—you must use standard brackets at each end.
