How To Select Kirsch Architrac Heavy Duty Rods
What are the Best Curtain Rods?
Architrac is used in homes, businesses and other commercial establishments where reliable, exceptional performance is demanded. Architrac is available in cord-draw (with optional Briza Motorization) and baton-draw configurations for both Pinch Pleat and Ripplefold Draperies. Architrac rods can be wall or ceiling mounted, and are assembled with Stainless Steel Ball Bearing Carriers for pinch pleats, Heavy Duty Pulley Sets, and Strong .050" 6063T5 Aluminum Alloy Track. Architrac heavy duty drapery rods can support up to 80 pounds in drapery panel weight. Architrac Rods with Briza Motorization can support up to 100 pounds of weight. Architrac rods can be ordered in White, Anodized-Aluminium, Bronze or Black.
Below we describe the process of customizing your Kirsch Architrac Rod. Each section below corresponds to the individual options that must be selected when placing an order.
1. Which Kirsch Architrac Rod Should I choose?
We offer Kirsch Architrac 94001 Cord-Draw (with optional Motorization), and Kirsch Architrac 94003 Baton-Draw Series Rods. The decision here is simply whether you prefer to open and close your drapery panels with a cord, motorization or a baton. Each rod can carry up to 80 pounds in drapery weight and each can be wall or ceiling mounted.
2. Rod Width and Fractional Width
Rod Width plus Fractional Width is the finished width of your Kirsch Architrac Rod. We do not make any additions or subtractions to the Rod Width you select; your Rod will be the exact width specified by you. Please note that if you are installing your Kirsch Architrac Rod as an Inside Mount (wall to wall or inside a window or some other type of fixed opening), you will need to make a deduction so that the Rod is not the exact same width as the opening in which you will be mounting the rod. Our recommendation is to deduct 1/2". For example, if the opening in which you will be installing your Kirsch Architrac Rod is 118 3/4", we recommend ordering your Rod at 118 1/4". For Outside Mount Rod, no deduction in Rod Width is necessary.
3. Carrier Style
Kirsch Architrac Rods can be manufactured for Pinch Pleat Draperies or Ripplefold Draperies. Pinch Pleat Draperies are attached to the Rod with Drapery Pins. If you have Pinch Pleat Draperies, simply select the Pinch Pleat Carrier Style.
Ripplefold Draperies are attached to the Rod via Ripplefold Snap Tape. Snap Tape is sewn onto the Drapery Panels at the time the Drapery Panels are fabricated. Kirsch Architrac Rods can be fabricated with Ripplefold Snap Carriers to match Ripplefold Fullness of 60%, 80%, 100% and 120%.The amount of Ripplefold Fullness selected for your Kirsch Architrac Rod must match the fullness at which your Ripplefold Drapery panels have been (or will be) manufactured.
In addition to Ripplefold Fullness, you must also choose between Overlap Master Slides and Butt-Master Slides. As is the case with Ripplefold Fullness, the type of Master Slides selected for a Kirsch Architrac Rod must match the type of Master Slides your Ripplefold Drapery Panels have been (or will be) manufactured for.

Draw/Stack refers to how your Drapery Panels operate.
A pair of drapery panels "meet" in the center of the Track when the panels are drawn and are "stacked" at each side of the Track when the panels are returned.
|One-Way Right Draw.
The Track opens and closes a single panel from and then back to the right side of the Track.
|One-Way Left Draw.
The Track opens and closes a single panel from and then back to the left side of the Track.
5. Cord Position and Cord Drop (Kirsch Architrac Series 94001 Cord-Draw Rods Only)
The Draw Cord can be placed on either side of the Rod. Typically, a One-Way Right Draw Rod will have the cord on the right, and a One-Way Left Draw Rod will have the cord on the left. This is so that the cord will be "hidden" by the drapery panel when the panel is installed.
Cord-Drop refers to the length of the cord. The final cord length is adjusted at the time you install your Kirsch Architrac Rod, so order a cord that is longer than the actual cord-drop needed for the finished, installed product. In other words, if at the time of installation your rod will be at at height of 90 inches, order a Cord Drop of 8-Feet.
If you prefer Motorization, please indicate "No Cord--I will choose Motorization Below" in both the "Cord Position" and "Cord Drop" boxes.
6. AMP Motorization (Kirsch Architrac Series 94001 Rods Only)
AMP Motorization is offered as a phone-order alternative to cord-draw on the 94001 series Architrac Rods. The only decision whe choosing Motorization is the placement of the Motor on the track, Right or Left. When making this decision first consider whether you have a one-way or split-draw drapery. As the Motor is installed below the track, a customer with a one-way drapery panel will typically want the Motor placed on the same side of the track that the panel will "stack." This will allow for the Motor to always be "covered" by the drapery panel. For split-draw draperies, consider the location of the nearest electrical outlet, as the Motor includes a 6-foot long power cable that will be plugged into a standard household outlet.
7. Baton/Wand Length and Style (Kirsch Architrac Series 94003 Baton-Draw Rods Only)
We offer Batons in two finishes (Clear PVC and White Fiberglass) and four lengths (3, 4, 5, and 6 feet long). The Clear Batons are 1/2" in diameter and the White Wands are 3/8" in diameter. Functionally, each is as strong as the other and each works as well as the other. It is simply a matter of your preference as to how the Batons "look."
Kirsch Architrac Series 94001 and 94003 rods can each be wall or ceiling mounted. For a ceiling mount, simply select Ceiling Mount Brackets. The number of brackets supplied with your rod will be determined by us, based upon the width of the rod you select. Ceiling Mount Brackets can be mounted at any position along width of the track.
Wall Mount Brackets are available in two configurations: (1) Standard Wall Mount Brackets, adjustable from 3 1/2" to 4 1/2". Select these brackets to mount a single rod in cases in which you do not need to clear any other items or obstructions behind the rod. (2) Double Wall Rod Mount Brackets can be used when you are mounting two rods (one in front of the other), or in the cases of a single rod where additional rear-clearance is called for. The number of brackets supplied with your rod will be determined by us, based upon the width of the rod you select. Wall Mount Brackets can be mounted at any position along the track.
Kirsch Architrac Series 94001 and 94003 rods are available in White, Anodized-Aluminum, Bronze, or Black. Component parts will be color-coordinated.
