How do corner curtain rods work?

Creating a corner window curtain rod is simple. This connector can be used for perfect corners, bay windows, or even to go around an outside corner in your room.
How do you install curtains in a bay window?
Swivel sockets can be used to create a perfectly shaped bay window curtain rod. Depending on the segments of your bay, you will need three or more curtain rods and two or more swivel sockets. Make sure you purchase your swivel sockets from the same collection as the curtain rods to ensure a perfect fit. Each rod will make up one section of the bay window, so they will probably need to be custom-cut on-site to fit perfectly.
Don’t forget that your curtain rods will need brackets and finials. You will need a bracket on each side of every swivel socket, and at each outside end (e.g. six brackets for a 3-section bay). If an individual rod is very long, it is wise to also include center support on that segment. Finials make the perfect finishing touch, and because the rods will be connected, you will only need one pair. You may also need rings for your draperies. Note that the draperies cannot move past the corners or angles, so select your panels with that limitation in mind.

How to Install Corner Curtain Rods
Installing corner curtain rods is a very similar process to that of installing two regular curtain rods, except for the addition of the curtain rod connector. No special curtain rod brackets are necessary for corner curtain rods. All you need is the regular wall or ceiling bracket that corresponds with the curtain rod of your choice.
While the process is nearly identical to hanging regular curtain rods, the positioning of the brackets for corner curtain rods is a little different. You will need to take into consideration the depth of the brackets when placing them on each side of each angle, ensuring that they do not hit each other, but are close enough so that they support the rods on each side of the swivel sockets.

Installation of the swivel socket joint is easier than you think. When the correct size is purchased for your curtain rods, the swivel socket can be securely attached. It will either fit snugly into each side of the curtain rod or screw into the pilot hole on wood rods.
